Cornerstone Newbuild Coarse is a dry ready mixed hydraulic lime mortar and render for general building and pointing work or as a coarse render coat within an appropriate render system. Available in the colour buff.

Engineered with precision, utilising hydraulic lime, natural sands, and additives to enhance physical and mechanical characteristics to create a high-performance mortar and render. Designed to meet the demands of contemporary construction, Newbuild Coarse features the benefits of pure lime mortar whilst retaining the higher strength associated with a modern mortar or render. Available as standard with Saint-Astier® HL5. Other binders and mix ratios are available upon request.

Well-suited for projects looking for the aesthetic of a traditional lime mortar or render but with a set similar to that of cement.

Newbuild Coarse is a suitable for general building and pointing work as well as rendering applications. Suitable for applications including coarse render coats, dubbing out, scat coats, scratch coats and float coats within an appropriate render system. Well-suited for stonework, brickwork or blockwork applications with joints larger than 12mm. For rendering applications, we recommend pairing Newbuild Coarse with Newbuild Medium as the finishing render coat. Appropriate for various project types, including contemporary newbuild or sustainable construction.

A 25kg bag yields approximately 15 litres of lime mortar or render. For rendering, this covers roughly 1.5m² at a 10mm thickness. For pointing, this will fill roughly 1.5m² at a 10mm depth. Consumption rates will change based on how even the background is and suction. The width and depth of the joint will influence this estimation. On-site trials are advised for the best yield indication for your specific project.

Supplied in 25kg polythene-lined and colour and batch-code paper bags for easy identification on-site and palletised for ease of transport, storage, and handling. FIBC tonne bags are also available.

As natural products, our kiln-dried sands may exhibit variations in colour, texture, and shape. While these variations are minimal, when colour consistency is crucial, we strongly advise each elevation is completed using render and plaster from the same batch.
