Transcover achieves Made in Britain accreditation

KENT-based Transcover is a leading UK manufacturer of commercial vehicle covering systems. It designs and builds its systems and tarps specifically for various markets around the world, rather than offering a one-size-fits-all philosophy. The company has now achieved accreditation from the Made in Britain organisation.

The Transcover range of systems is suitable for all sectors of the UK transport industry including agriculture. The company started off buying and selling systems from a USA supplier, but the European market has specific requirements so Transcover decided that manufacturing its own covers was the best way forward. Transcover is now a major supplier to the majority of haulage contractors and OEMs in the waste, construction and agri industries.

Steve Hines, founder of the business, told Made in Britain, “We are the only company in the UK that manufacture their own full range of systems. In these times it important that we, as a country, support our UK manufacturing base and sometimes UK companies choose costs over quality. By being accredited by the Made in Britain organisation, hopefully it raises the customers’ interest and confidence in British-built products.

Transcover plans to use the official, protected Made in Britain mark on its packaging, mailshots, videos and products. Find out more about Transcover from its members’ directory profile page here and its website here.
