DUE to the unfolding situation with coronavirus (COVID-19), and announcement from the Prime Minister Monday night, we are having to take radical steps to protect the lives of all our people and external stakeholders. As a direct consequence of the announcement, we have no option but to temporarily suspend all business activity with immediate effect. We have kept operating to supply our leading products and services to our customers for as long as possible by adapting working practices in line with Government advice, however, we will now only be performing a small amount of activity to close our factories and business properties and also ensure that client properties are left in a secure and safe condition. The impact of this decision is that we will have no resource available to accept deliveries from our suppliers with immediate effect and all outstanding orders will need to be rescheduled.
Business is facing unprecedented times with the coronavirus outbreak. At this critical time, we need your support as we weather this storm together. Our current priority is to protect the long-term future of Anglian Home Improvements for the benefit of our employees, suppliers and customers and we are looking for your support over this standstill time.
We are a business that has made dramatic improvements over the last year, with strong orders and better profitability than we have enjoyed for many a year which has helped prepare the Company for the difficult times that we now find ourselves in. In the last 12 months, we will have achieved a positive swing of over £10 million in EBITDA compared to published accounts for 2018/19 and have been preparing for continued positive trends following our successful approach to the business this year. We look forward to reaping the rewards of these efforts with you once this crisis is over.
For almost 60 years, we have been improving the homes of the nation and rest assured we will continue to do so in the future. As the biggest company in our market, we have a significant pipeline of orders to fulfil when the time is right to re-enter the homes of our current and future customers.
