Maun Industries was founded in 1944. Aptly named after the nearby River Maun, a symbol of inspiration that continues to flow through the company's veins. Led by a team of creative engineers, the company set about developing and manufacturing a premium range of innovative hand tools, quickly establishing a reputation for their durability, performance and problem-solving capabilities.

Today, the factory and headquarters, near Sherwood Forest in Nottinghamshire, is the beating heart of Maun Industries, where the company’s skilled team of engineers, machinists, and assembly technicians, are based, dedicated to those same objectives. Every day, they transform high grade steels into innovative, problem-solving tools. Precision-made tools that are durable, reliable and trusted by engineers, technicians and others to perform in applications across even the most demanding industrial settings.

Maun Industries has, and continues to be, privately owned, with an uninterrupted 80-year history. The marque is synonymous with the parallel action plier and was instrumental in defining the standards BS 3087-7:1996 and ISO 5747:1995, when first published in the 1980s. Setting the standards for lever assisted side cutting pliers, diagonal cutting pliers and end nippers, Maun’s products continue to be the industry benchmark.

Today, Maun Industries is controlled and managed by Timothy Scholes. Building upon Maun’s heritage and under its dynamic leadership team, the company continues its relentless momentum with vision and investment to advance innovation, drive sustained growth and nurture the next generation of quality tools and tool makers.
